The trend is increasingly towards tailored donor centric communication. The more we know about donors without violating their privacy, perhaps the better we can tailor our communications with them. We realize that GG has a ton of information on multiple metrics about the donors.

Some of these can be worked out from the CSV file export of the donations, but an user interface would be nice.
Not sure if sharing the country of the donor goes along with the donor privacy policy...

For both reports and appeals. I agree with Sarah tailored responses regarding currency, number of donations and amounts would be good as well so we could tailor requests from once off to monthly, increases from $10 to $20 etc.

This would be fantastic. We are encouraged to address donors as personally as possible in your training, but in practice we are only able to address them as a block through reports once past the thank you.

Sarah Gale: Thanks Sarah and Louise Batty! Are you thinking this segmentation would be for project reports, project appeals, or both? Or something different?

Miranda Cleland: It would be useful to be able to distinguish location in reports and appeals so that we can give the correct time zone and currency when we promote bonus days. It might be useful to be able to be able to send an appeal out to promote the recurring donation match just to people who have given in the last year who don't already have a recurring donation.

Project Report Tags
Cojolya Association
Tags could serve so many valuable purposes. From an organizational standpoint, having options to tag according to report style such as "quarterly change," "activity," "personal narrative," could help offer inspiration for topics to write about in project reports. For GG's analysis, searching for a tag such as "life story" or "quantitative analysis" could help assess what is effective for the learning library. Donors could choose what kinds of stories they wanted to read, and any viewer could see funder/grantmaker reports and thank you as opposed to general project reports. As newer orgs develop, they can search for different frameworks for report writing according to a tag which could help narrow the search and build community through learning.

I love this idea! We are thinking of ways to improve project reports as a whole next year, and adding tags/prompts could be really interesting. Seems like it would also help new-to-GlobalGiving organizations understand and write great reports.

A donor´s feedback on the project reports might be stimulating.
