We added 9 new tools to GG Rewards earlier this year: https://www.globalgiving.org/dy/v2/pe/rewards/add-tool.html
And have categorized all past webinars in a Webinar Archive available on the dashboard: https://www.globalgiving.org/webinars
We'll continue to tweak these to make them better in the future. Thanks for your thoughtfulness, everyone!

I use a Mac and have trouble often with the 3rd party tools. Either we can't fill them in online and then upload to the GG site or they just don't function. It's frustrating. I have written to Project Help a couple of times about this but got no response. We just give up and don't do it because it isn't worth the effort. It would be great to see some fast and dirty tools that we can use in our busy days without make work projects out of them. They are so Western-centric that our team just roll their eyes if they see me coming with them. Something simpler and faster would be much more useful for capacity building. Thanks, Pam DARE Network. PS. This is a good example. I couldn't just leave a comment. I had to signup for an account on a third party, that I don't know anything about and don't really want. Too much.

Thanks for your response to my earlier query. I have another question? How many early reports do you need to submit to get extra reward points, and/or how early to they have to be?

After five years of being part of the GG platform, very few webinars are offering something new or useful - and if we have completed the similar webinar related circles before, its just waste of time and energy (none in surplus in small teams) to do the same over and over again only to gain points. Thank you messages related points are also not making much sense since there are quite a few donations each month that we cannot thank ("the donor or the business doesn't want to get any messages"), or are recurring and makes no sense to send the thank you note every month, or are regular donor who send frequently some money and again makes no sense to thank them each and every time...
It is very good to have some type of rewards for engaging more (regular reports, participation in the campaigns, even the number of donors or the amount of donations, but some of the items categorized are just not fostering real engagement or learning (like adding up another email address just for the sake of getting one more point...). Improvements are needed, but meaningful and sending good message.

Ljiljana Vasic: Hi Ljiljana, thanks so much for your thoughtful points about webinars and GG Rewards! Your point is similar to Sarah's, above, and I'm definitely going to share your thoughts with our GG Rewards team. I can see how finding new topics to learn about on GlobalGiving can be difficult after being a partner for five years—are there particular topics your team is interested in learning about?

Miranda Cleland: Hi Miranda, from the top of my head, webinars related to the better or more efficient promotion of an organisation, its projects and actions seem always to attract many participants; webinars about financial aspects - GG UK had one extremely good webinar about financial project management, budgeting, finding ways to get more money for an organisation in order to outsource certain tasks some years ago... (they had the people from then Mango organisation - nowadays they belong to Humentum organisation who did a pro bono webinar and it was absolutely the best ever one on GG); strategic planning for a small NGO and all the things that help sustainability of a small NGO - after all, most of the GG partners are small NGOs around the world and they can rarely afford professional consultancy. At the same time, as long as they manage to be sustainable and run projects, there is a better chance for them to develop, budget and manage projects for which they are seeking donations through GG platform, the more donations they can get and consequently its better for GG too... Of course, for new partners you need the basic webinars on campaigns, contests, project report writing etc, but for the engagement of everyone, some of these above mentioned and more would also be very useful.

Ljiljana Vasic: Thank you so much! That was super helpful for our team to consider when discussing our learning strategy. We're planning to do some webinars like the ones you described (including financial management!) this year with the Peer Learning Network. Here's the schedule: https://www.globalgiving.org/peer-learning-network/

Miranda Cleland: Try to communicate also with the GG UK team - they really had extremely good webinars done by real professionals (consultancy companies who are focused on NGO work and give trainings for money, but as part of their CRS they offered one off free training/webinar). I have also left you a comment on a a GG Time related topic for a webinar on how to use GG Time platform... from many questions and obviously not well understood things, you can always get good ideas for the future webinars

I would like to understand more about how GG rewards relates to the ranking of individual programmes. I also find watching webinars takes more time than reading the equivalent content. This is especially true now we have been involved with GG for some time. Much of the webinars on bonus campaigns is the same each time, so if we're reading we can skim that bit and skip to the content that is meaningful for us, but you don't get points for that! It's a shame to incentivise bad use of time.

Sarah Gale: Hi Sarah, thanks so much for your thoughts about webinars (similar to Ljiljana's below). I'm definitely going to share this with our campaigns team as well as the GG Rewards team to make sure we think critically about the use of webinars + campaigns in 2019.

What are the plans of GlobalGiving to provide the GG Rewards section with more Toolkits?
Miranda Cleland
Vigen Mkrtchyan: Hi Vigen! We're currently working on identifying new tools to add to GG Rewards and hope to get those up in the first part of 2019. If you know of any good ones, send them our way!

For me, i think the GG rewards are okay and should therefore remain the same.

This will definitely improve our appreciation of various data sources

I like that the Rewards program exists. I have found information that has helped us. I probably did not go back to check if there was a whole learning cycle to go with it. For example, there has been a lot of valuable information with the Giving Campaigns- I've learned from the GG webite, Facebook groups, and my peers. We increased in our donations and number of donors, so I'm pretty happy with those rewards.
The more we become involved with GG, the information we seek. I'm not sure that the points make a big difference.
